On 11th and On 11 and 12 June 2024, Rüschlikon will become a meeting place for spectators and fans of professional cycling. The Tour de Suisse will pay a two-day visit to the lakeside community on the left bank of Lake Zurich as part of the overall competition (9 – 18 June 2024). For the first time in Rüschlikon’s history, the village will be the host municipality and stage location for the 1,300-kilometre-long national sporting event.

Rüschlikon is beautiful and centrally located. Zurich, just six kilometres away, can be reached quickly and easily thanks to the well-developed public transport network. The location also makes Rüschlikon an ideal recreational area. Rüschlikon is a lively and active community: around 60 clubs and societies offer an attractive range of social, cultural and sporting activities.

In addition to the finish of the 3rd stage on the evening of 11 June, the start of the 4th stage will also take place in Rüschlikon on Wednesday, 12 June 2024. “We are really looking forward to the Tour de Suisse,” says Fabian Müller, Mayor of Rüschlikon. “A dedicated local organising committee will ensure a coherent supporting programme dedicated to cycling. Rüschlikon also offers magnificent views of Lake Zurich and the site is easily accessible by public transport and, of course, by bike.”

Rüschlikon is located in the Zimmerberg region and belongs to the district of Horgen. With a population of just over 6,200, Rüschlikon is a medium-sized municipality. It is a place where history is alive, but also where the future is being written – three think tanks have set up shop in the municipality of Rüschlikon. Over 400 companies with a total of 2,400 jobs are located in Rüschlikon, including international multinationals such as IBM with its research laboratory and 3M (Schweiz) AG.

All this contributes to what Rüschlikon is all about: joy of life on Lake Zurich.
