le c\u00f4t\u00e9 gauche de la haute L\u00e9ventine. L\u2019\u00e9glise paroissiale est d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 San Pietro et San Paolo; la premi\u00e8re preuve en date de 1227. La municipalit\u00e9 de Quinto est compos\u00e9e de nombreux villages et hameaux, dont nous \u00e9num\u00e9rons ici les plus importants, \u00e0 savoir Altanca, Ronco, Deggio, Catto, Lurengo, Varenzo, Ambr\u00ec et Piotta. Les deux derniers se trouvent au fond de la vall\u00e9e et sont plus connus car ils abritent le club de hockey sur glace HCAP (Hockey Club Ambr\u00ec-Piotta). A Piotta, pr\u00e8s de la \u00ab\u00a0Centrale FSS\u00a0\u00bb, se trouve la station inf\u00e9rieure du funiculaire Ritom, construite en 1921 pour la construction de la centrale hydro\u00e9lectrique du m\u00eame nom des Chemins de fer f\u00e9d\u00e9raux suisses (CFF). Avec une pente maximale de 87,8%, c\u2019est l\u2019un des funiculaires publics les plus raides au monde.<\/p>\n<h4>Val Piora et lac Ritom<\/h4>\n<p>La vall\u00e9e de Piora est l\u2019un des espaces naturels uniques et offre d\u2019innombrables possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9vasion de la vie quotidienne, de profiter de la paix et de la tranquillit\u00e9, de d\u00e9couvrir un paysage intact et de vivre des moments inoubliables lors de belles promenades ou randonn\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Le lac de montagne le plus important du Tessin, d\u2019une superficie de 1,49 km2, est facilement accessible avec le l\u00e9gendaire t\u00e9l\u00e9ph\u00e9rique. En 1917, le premier barrage a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit, avec lequel le lac a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 pour la production d\u2019\u00e9nergie hydro\u00e9lectrique. Ceci est toujours d\u2019une grande importance pour toute la vall\u00e9e de la L\u00e9ventine.<\/p>\n<p>Les visiteurs atteignent la vall\u00e9e de Piora et le paysage magnifique avec le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre funiculaire Ritom, l\u2019un des plus raides au monde. Une fois arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 la station amont du funiculaire, vous pourrez faire de nombreuses randonn\u00e9es, le paradis des randonneurs entre ciel et terre !<\/p>\n<p>Le lac Ritom s\u2019impose comme un endroit parfait o\u00f9 vous pourrez trouver d\u00e9tente et repos. Un panorama unique se refl\u00e8te \u00e0 la surface du lac Ritom, qui fait oublier le quotidien. Les randonneurs passionn\u00e9s en auront \u00e9galement pour leur argent. La r\u00e9gion autour du lac est le point de d\u00e9part de nombreuses randonn\u00e9es, itin\u00e9raires VTT et balades inoubliables.<\/p>\n<p>Le sentier didactique cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2009 sur la rive droite du lac invite petits et grands \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir les beaut\u00e9s naturelles indescriptibles qui entourent le lac. Du point de vue gastronomique, la r\u00e9gion est surtout connue pour son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre et savoureux fromage d\u2019alpage, le Piora.<\/p>\n<h4>Centre de biologie alpine<\/h4>\n<p>La r\u00e9gion du Val Piora poss\u00e8de une remarquable vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments botaniques, faunistiques et g\u00e9ologiques. Cette circonstance a fait de cette r\u00e9gion une destination populaire pour les scientifiques et les chercheurs qui sont attir\u00e9s par les caract\u00e9ristiques naturelles de notre r\u00e9gion. Le lac de Cadagno, au coeur du Val Piora, est en effet une destination pour de nombreux chercheurs du monde entier.<\/p>\n<p>En 1994, le Centre de biologie alpine de Piora a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement inaugur\u00e9 en pr\u00e9sence de la conseill\u00e8re f\u00e9d\u00e9rale Ruth Dreifuss. La structure est ouverte aux universit\u00e9s, lyc\u00e9es techniques, lyc\u00e9es et coll\u00e8ges et constitue le centre de recherche scientifique de la r\u00e9gion Ritom-Piora. Il est fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 par un grand nombre de chercheurs encore en formation ou d\u00e9j\u00e0 dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Outre les formations universitaires, le centre est \u00e9galement ouvert aux \u00e9coles sup\u00e9rieures et au grand public.
